Point Access – Zone Management

Zone Management is the section where a user can select one of the following options:

  • Create New Zone: To create a new Zone in the current app.
  • Manage Zone: To edit an existing Zone.
  • Activity Log: To inspect the check-in details for an existing Zone.
  • Delete Zone: To delete a Zone from the current app.

Activity Log

The Activity Log includes the following details for further analysis on every check-in made within the Zone:

  • Check-in ID
    The unique identifier of the Check-in record.
  • Install Ref
    The unique app install reference on the device.
  • Zone ID
    The unique identifier of the Zone that triggered the Check-in.
  • Zone Name
    The name of the Zone that triggered the Check-in.
  • Fence / Beacon ID
    The unique identifier of the fence or beacon that triggered the Check-in.
  • Fence / Beacon Name
    The configured name of the fence or beacon checked into.
  • Location (Lat, Long)
    The latitudinal and longitudinal position of the device at the point of check-in
  • Device Speed (m/s)
    The speed the device was traveling when the check-in was made reported in meters/sec. This can be zero if the device was stationary at the time of checking in; for example, re-triggering a fence upon the expiry of a minimum re-trigger time.
  • Device Bearing (degrees)
    The bearing value of the device at the time of Check-in reported in degrees.
  • Device Type
    A description of the mobile device checked into the Zone.
  • SDK Version
    The Point SDK version number being used in the application which has triggered the check-in. (Available only for check-ins of SDK version 1.6 and above.)
  • App Build Version
    The app build version of the application using the Point SDK which triggered the check-in. (Available only for check-ins of SDK version 1.8 and above.)
  • Check-in Time (UTC)
    The UTC date and time of the check-in in ISO format.
  • Check-out Time (UTC)
    If a Zone has been configured for Check-out, then the UTC date and time the check-out has occurred in ISO format.
  • Dwell Time
    If a Zone has been configured for Check-out, then the dwell time is provided giving the number of minutes a device has been within a fence or within the range of a beacon that it has checked into.
  • Received At (UTC)
    UTC date and time of the Check-in was received in our database in ISO format.

A user can also search through the activity log using any particular field, print the activity log, copy the data to the clipboard or export the data.  Data can be exported to a CSV file, an  Excel spreadsheet or a PDF.
