Android – Integrating the SDK as an AAR

Bluedot Point SDK for Android is integrated into an application project using the Android Archive (AAR). Follow the steps below to integrate the SDK successfully into your project.

  1. Edit the root build.gradle file to add the following URL (https://jitpack.io) to the repositories section.
    ...
    allprojects {
            repositories {
                ...
                maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
            }
        }

  2. Include the Bluedot Point SDK as a dependency in the app’s  build.gradle file within the dependencies section.
  3. Click on ‘Sync Project with Gradle Files’ to sync your project.
    dependencies {
            ...
            implementation 'com.github.Bluedot-Innovation:PointSDK-Android:1.13.3'
        }

AndroidManifest.xml changes

When integrating Bluedot Point SDK using the AAR, there is no need to declare permissions or the services used by the SDK within the app’s AndroidManifest.xml file. These declarations are imported from the AndroidManifest.xml file bundled into the AAR.
